Following Light the Sign, the FFDRC has started a Light the City initiative. Light the City draws attention, both locally and beyond, to the beauty of Fergus Falls. The goal is to beautify the city and encourage people to visit, shop and even consider moving their family or business to Fergus Falls.

The project envisions concepts such as Light the Falls, Light the River Walk or Light Historic Downtown buildings. Seeing an opportunity to accomplish two objectives with one project, the FFDRC has partnered with Spring Board for the Arts with a goal of having many of the lighting concepts become public artwork instead of simple light fixtures.
