Event Details
Fergus Falls Downtown Riverfront Council and Greater Fergus Falls Corp. are pleased to announce that we are co-hosting a keynote presentation by Chuck Marohn from Strong Towns. Marohn will present The Curbside Chat – an important look at the financial realities facing America’s cities, towns and neighborhoods.
Marohn will discuss three core concepts central to Strong Towns thinking and will the explore them in depth:
•Continuous building (“growth”) is not the measure of a successful town, especially if that so-called growth represents the increased liability for our future citizens.
•When we plan for our cities’ futures, we need to look to the history of how resilient cities have been successfully built for centuries – not what our modern predictive models speculate might make our cities better off.
•Any citizen can participate in making their town stronger, and no town will truly be made stronger without building a culture of people who care.
The public is welcomed and encouraged to attend. Reserved seating ONLY for $20/ticket. Tickets can be purchased through A Center for the Arts.
