The Fergus Falls Downtown Riverfront Council is producing this video series that will highlight Fergus Falls businesses. We are starting with downtown businesses who serve our community in a variety of ways. Such businesses and organizations as Dan's Vacuum, Fergus Falls School of Dance and Tangles to Treasures Weaving Studio. Our first episode celebrates A Place to Belong, just as Sue Wilken is retiring as the Executive Director after ten years of serving our community.

A Place to Belong


Episode 1
 Meet A Place To Belong. In the first episode of Meet Your Neighbor, former Executive Director Sue Wilken shares her heart and passion for the work this organization does in serving people with serious mental illness. "To have somebody smile and give me a hug when I tell them how wonderful they are...that just floats my boat," Sue shares, "just to be able to serve people is such a joy."

Dan’s Vacuum & Sewing


Episode 2
 Dan's Vacuum & Sewing, Inc. has chosen Downtown Fergus Falls for 34 years! As online shopping becomes more and more convenient, Dan understands that service is key to a successful business. "People want to go into a place where they're appreciated." Need your vacuum cleaner or sewing machine serviced? Dan will take care of you, whether you purchased the machine at Dan's Vacuum or not.

Terroir Chocolate


Episode 3
 TC Chocolate (Terroir Chocolate) was inspired by watching Stumbeano's Coffee Roasterie and Falls Baking Company succeed in rural Minnesota. Noticing a gap in the craft chocolate market in the upper midwest and combining their own love for chocolate, the Mohagens eventually started Terroir Chocolate.

Tangles to Treasures


Episode 4
 Torri (Torri's Tangles to Treasures Weaving Studio and Gallery) brings a lot of expertise and history in the fiber arts to downtown Fergus Falls (weaving, knitting, spinning, etc.). Torri's passion is in caring for the environment and she is developing a local fiber shed, creating opportunities for yarn and other fibers to travel no more than 150 miles from sheep to store. Fergus Falls School of Dance


Episode 5
 Ramona, the director of Fergus Falls School of Dance, shares about her background and her passion for teaching dance. It's more than just dancing. "We're teaching the students how to be good people...that's really our ultimate goal." Dance & Dessert is coming up December 7 & 8. This collaboration with A Center for the Arts raises funds that go toward bringing professional dance companies to Fergus Falls to perform and teach. You can purchase tickets here.
